Paralympic Glory and World Records

Davies' journey to greatness began at the 2012 London Paralympics, where he clinched the bronze medal in the shot put and a historic gold in the discus throw.  This was just the beginning of his meteoric rise, as he went on to become the world record holder in the F42 shot put that same year.

In 2013, Davies solidified his dominance by claiming the World Championship gold in both the shot put and discus events in Lyon, France.  His relentless pursuit of excellence continued in 2014, when he broke his own world records in the discus (48.87m) and shot put (15.13m) within a span of just two months.

European and Commonwealth Games Triumphs

Davies' triumphs extended to the European and Commonwealth Games stages. At the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships held in his home country, he secured double gold in the shot put and discus, buoyed by the roaring support of the Welsh crowd.  Earlier that year, he represented Wales at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he claimed a silver medal in the F42-44 discus event.

Overcoming Adversity and Mental Health Advocacy

Born with hemimelia of the right leg in Bridgend, South Wales, Davies has overcome immense challenges to reach the pinnacle of his sport.  His resilience and determination were further tested in 2016 when he battled depression after the Rio Paralympics.  However, Davies emerged stronger, using his platform to raise awareness about mental health and inspire others facing similar struggles.

Honors and Recognition

Davies' extraordinary achievements have been widely recognized and celebrated. In 2014, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to athletics.  He has also been honored as a triple world champion and double Paralympic gold medalist by the Welsh government.
